Mantibugao-based farmers’ coop receives PhP2.9-M farm tractor

MANOLO FORTICH, BUKIDNON — The Mantibugao Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Farmers’ Cooperative (MARBFC), which primarily grows corn and cassava, received a PhP2.9-million farm tractor from the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10) through its Corn Program on November 17 at the New Government Center Grounds, Municipal Hall, Calanawan in Brgy. Tankulan.

Funded under the agency’s Agricultural Machinery, Equipment, Facilities and Infrastructure Program, the four-wheel-drive tractor, equipped with a disc plow, disc harrow, and five-ton trailer, will help MARBFC accelerate land preparation, improve soil conditioning, and enhance production for its corn and cassava farms.

The trailer attachment will also facilitate the transport of inputs, harvested crops, and equipment, reducing labor and transport constraints and allowing the cooperative to provide more efficient mechanization services to both farmer-members and non-members.

DA-10 and the local government of Manolo Fortich said the turnover supports the current administration’s push to modernize agriculture. Machinery like this equips farmers’ cooperatives, associations (FCAs) in Northern Mindanao with essential tools for tilling, plowing, and transporting crops more efficiently.# (JLO/Photo supplied)
