DA-10 strengthens rice monitoring, empowers agri techs via digital reporting

MALAYBALAY CITY, BUKIDNON — Seeking to streamline the efficiency of agricultural data collection, consolidation, and case monitoring, the Department of Agriculture – Northern Mindanao (DA-10), through its Provincial Operations Center (POC) of Bukidnon, capacitates agricultural extension workers (AEWs) and local farmer technicians (LFTs) on “Digital Rice Reporting,” held on December 18 to 19 in the city.

Forty AEWs and LFTs across the province were trained on the mechanisms of the platforms and underwent the processes of rice reporting.

This training aims to address the need for timely data in the province’s agricultural sector. By transitioning from paper-based manual logging to streamlined, digitalized rice case reporting, the DA-10 targets for real-time reporting and enhanced intervention mapping.

As the training concluded, participants are expected to complete digital reports in their local areas and recommend actionable items from the said implementations for improvement.

Through this initiative anchored on the current administration’s investment to modernize agriculture, the DA-10 is pushing for the digitalization of all its primary services for monitoring and consolidation, safeguarding the livelihoods of farmers through more responsive and data-driven government support. # (BJCE)
