
DA-10 rolls out free-range chicken multiplier project in Pangantucan, Bukidnon
PANGANTUCAN, BUKIDNON – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA- 10), through its Livestock Program, rolled out a free-range chicken multiplier farm worth Php2 million in Pangantucan town, on February 19.
The project aims to modernize and industrialize local poultry production by establishing a sustainable source of quality chicken breeders that can be multiplied and distributed to extended beneficiaries in said town. It is designed to increase poultry supply, improve farm productivity, and provide livelihood opportunities for farmers through an organized and enterprise-based approach to chicken production.

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 20, s. 2023, which provides the implementing guidelines for the Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED) Program under the DA’s National Livestock Program, the project was formally turned over by virtue of a Memorandum of Agreement between the LGU of Pangantucan and the DA-10. Both parties pledged full support and cooperation to ensure the successful operation of the chicken multiplier farm.
The intervention includes 1-unit poultry house, 600 head of free-range chicken, 1 package of various veterinary drugs and biologics, and 130 bags of grower feeds.
Teodoro B. Quirante III, Municipal Agriculturist of Pangantucan, expressed his appreciation for the intervention and underscored the importance of the project’s sustainability. “We thank the Department of Agriculture for bringing this intervention to the municipality of Pangantucan, the committee are now planning strategies to ensure the sustainability of this project, with the continued support of the DA.”
In addition, Jamaica L. Docdoc, DA-10 OIC-Provincial Operations Center Chief for Bukidnon, emphasized the importance of proper coordination and prioritization for the project. “The chicken multiplier farm is one of our key projects, and we need to establish a priority list of beneficiaries for its production. Coordination and collaboration are essential, as this farm will serve as a source of poultry for farmers here in Pangantucan, Bukidnon, who want to start their own chicken business.”
This initiative supports the current administration’s commitment to advancing agricultural modernization, strengthening local food production, and promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities for farmers through enterprise-based livestock development.# (NQA)
