On June 9 , around 1,089 motorcab drivers/operators from Maramag town benefit from DA’s Community Pantry.

 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, June 9 – To provide food access, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 conducted a Community Pantry at Barangay South Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon.

Summing up to 1,089 motorcab drivers/operators from select barangays in the municipality have benefitted from the provided farm fresh agri-products such as rice, vegetables, root crops and 450 packets of 5-in-1 pinakbet vegetable seeds.

Setting up community pantries is one among DA’s initiatives to easen the effects, especially those badly hit by the pandemic.

During the activity, enrollment of farmers and fishers were simultaneously done to be part of the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).

Leading the activity was DA Assistant Secretary for Agribusiness and Marketing Kristine Y. Evangelista together with the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), DA-10 Provincial Operations Head for Bukidnon Dr. Janet D. Lopez representing Carlene C. Collado, regional executive director in coordination with agency partners from the local government units and the private sector.# (JCAnito)
