Aggie-10 distribute PhP56.6-M agri aid to mark Handog ng Pangulo in NorMin

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY –The Department of Agriculture-Region 10 (Aggie-10) handed over PhP56.6 million worth of agricultural interventions to farmers and Local Government Units (LGUs) in Northern Mindanao on September 14, marking the 2026 nationwide Handog ng Pangulo (HNP).

Themed Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat, the HNP is a nationwide Serbisyo Fair bringing together line agencies in the region to rally government services closer to the people, in solidarity to the 60th birthday celebration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.

The Aggie-10 turned over various agricultural interventions, including farm mechanization equipment, hauling trucks, high-value crop planting materials, forage seeds, veterinary drugs and supplies, and financial grant for the establishment of a KADIWA trading post in Misamis Occidental, to farmers and LGUs in Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, MisOcc, Lanao del Norte, and Camiguin during the simultaneous rollout of the HNP in Northern Mindanao.

The agency also distributed vegetable seeds and freshly sourced vegetables from local farmers to HNP beneficiaries, providing immediate food relief while helping farmers market their products.

Aggie-10 Regional Executive Director Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan said the grant of such agricultural assistance is consistent with the President’s directive for the government to help provide for the farmers’ needs.

“Kabahin kini sa malangkubon nga suporta sa Department of Agriculture (DA). Gani, karong adlawa amo na sad natapos ang PhP250 million nga Corn Silo and Storage System [Project] para sa Misamis Oriental Agriculture Industry Development Complex sa Claveria,” he disclosed.

(This is part of the DA’s comprehensive support. In fact, today we have also completed the PhP250 million Corn Silo and Storage System Project for the Misamis Oriental Agriculture Industry Development Complex in Claveria.)

Amid emerging challenges faced by the agriculture sector, Pacamalan said the Aggie-10 continues to provide capacitation support to the farmers, women, indigenous peoples (IPs) and other marginal sectors in the region.

“Sa sumada, dili moubos sa PhP3 billion ang suporta sa DA para sa Northern Mindanao [karong tuiga],” he accounted.

(In total, the DA’s support for Northern Mindanao amounts to no less than PhP3 billion this year.)

Through the HNP, local residents ably availed agricultural, livelihood, medical, legal, educational and other social services of the government in a one-stop setting.

Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Senior Undersecretary Henry L. Yap, who served as President Bongbong Marcos Jr.’s representative to the HNP Serbisyo Fair in Misamis Oriental, urged the government agencies and the people to continue working together toward a brighter future for every Filipino.

“Today’s intervention would amount to PhP2.8 billion pesos nationwide… bilang paghahatid ng oportunidad sa mga mag-aaral, manggagawa, magsasaka, mangingisda at maliliit na negosyante. Sapagkat para sa Pangulo ang pinakamahalagang handog sa araw na ito ay ang pagkakataon na makapaglingkod sa sambayanang Pilipino,” he underscored.

Aside from the DA, other government instrumentalities such as the PhilFIDA, ATI, DOH, Philhealth, OWWA, DSWD, DMW, DTI, DAR, NIA, DENR, TESDA, CHED, DepEd, CDA, DOLE, DICT, DSHUD, PNP, CdeO City Prosecutors Office, IBP-Misamis Oriental, among other government offices, took part in the HNP Serbisyo Fair in Misamis Oriental. # (ATT)
