Aggie NorMin brings agricultural information to Camiguin farmers

 

MAMBAJAO, Camiguin – Aiming to strengthen awareness of the department’s programs and services, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10) continues its conduct of Information Caravan in Camiguin province today, July 30.

Spearheaded by the agency’s Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Information Section (RAFIS), the activity gathered around 80 farmers, fisherfolk and agricultural extension workers, providing them with updates on key agricultural programs, and support services aimed at improving farm productivity and livelihoods.

In her message, RAFIS Chief Mary Grace B. Sta. Elena underscored the importance of timely and accurate information in enabling farmers and fisherfolk to maximize government interventions and make informed decisions for their agricultural endeavors.

In particular, participants also received updates on El Niño preparedness and mitigation measures, the National Rice Awareness Month (NRAM) Campaign, and DA-10’s digitalization initiatives, highlighting the department’s efforts to promote climate resilience, responsible rice consumption, and improved access to agricultural services through digital platforms.

The Information Caravan forms part of DA-10’s continuing commitment to strengthen public awareness and foster stakeholder engagement. # (AMBM)
