Aggie-NorMin hands over PhP87-M agri assistance in Bukidnon caravan

 

KIBAWE, BUKIDNON – To mark the 2026 Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month celebration, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (Aggie-NorMin) turned over PhP87.57 million worth of agricultural assistance to Bukidnon farmers and local government units (LGUs) during the May 7 Agriculture Caravan.

In partnership with the office of Bukidnon 3rd District Representative Audrey Kay Zubiri, the Aggie-NorMin turned over various agricultural interventions, including farm machinery and equipment, a trading post, hybrid corn and rice seeds, fertilizer, garden tools, and inputs for the establishment of Gulayan sa Paaralan to the LGUs and farmers’ associations, cooperatives (FCAs) in the towns of Damulog, Dangcagan, Don Carlos, Kadingilan, Kibawe, Kitaotao, Maramag and Quezon

The caravan reflects the interconnected roles of the DA and the local governments in shaping a collaborative effort for the common pursuit of inclusive agricultural development at the grassroots level.

In her message, Congresswoman Zubiri stressed the importance of the caravan as a mechanism to bring the government programs and services closer to the farmers. Highlighting Bukidnon’s identity as one of the country’s top agricultural-producing provinces, she recognized the farmers’ dedication and diligence as the driving force for community development.

To scale up the region’s agriculture system, Aggie-NorMin Regional Executive Director Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan championed the digitization of agricultural data in programming the agency’s service delivery mechanism. He urged the LGUs and farmers to support the DA’s digitalization effort as a springboard for the development of farmers-centered, timely and efficient agricultural programs in the region.

During the caravan the Philippine Crop Insurance, Corp. – Region 10 (PCIC-10) also launched the distribution of PhP8.6 million insurance claims to eligible farmers in the province.

DA-attached agencies, bureaus and corporations such as the National Dairy Authority, Philippine Coconut Authority, National Tobacco Administration, Philippine Fiber Industry Authority, Bureau of Animal Industry – National Veterinary Quarantine Services, National Meat Inspection Service, Agricultural Training Institute, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, National Food Authority, Philippine Rice Research Institute, and the PCIC joined the caravan to apprise the farmers of the projects and services offered by their respective agencies.# (ATT/Photo Credits: CRS)
