Agri-10 F2C2 molds stronger farmer, fisher cooperatives through good governance training
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Forty officers and members of farmer and fisherfolk cooperatives in Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon undergo “Fundamentals of Cooperative and Good Governance” training of the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (Agri-10) Farm and Fisheries Clustering and Consolidation (F2C2) Program in collaboration with the Cooperative Development Authority, on September 3 to 4, 2026, here.
The training aims to equip participating cooperatives on cooperative principles, membership rights and responsibilities, organizational structure, and the roles of cooperative officers as key foundations in building transparent and accountable organizations responsive to their members’ needs.

Beyond organizational knowledge, the training highlights good governance as a tool for improving resource management, decision-making, and service delivery.
As part of the training participants were also upskilled on the digitalization of the Farmer and Fisherfolk Reporting Information System, enabling cooperatives to better manage and submit organizational information and farm and fishery production data.
With better-governed cooperatives, the F2C2 Program deemed the Sampatulog Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Farmers’ Cooperative, Man-ai Integrated Agro-Fishery Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, Balugto Hope Agriculture Cooperative, Talaandig Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, Villanueva Corn-Cassava Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, and the Makabangko Abaca Farmers Agriculture Cooperative capable partner organizations to access government support, consolidating production, improving market participation, and creating better opportunities for their members.
Farmer and fishery cooperatives’ strengthening is part of the DA’s thrust to build a more resilient, productive, and competitive local agri-fishery sector, characterized by empowered, and market-ready farmers and fisherfolk. #(NQA)
