Agri-10 joins 2Q Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — In a bid to strengthen safety and disaster resilience, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (Agri-10) participated in the 2026 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 18.

At exactly 9:00 a.m., the employees performed the standard “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure as part of the agency’s earthquake preparedness and response readiness exercise.

To ensure proper execution, safety marshals were deployed across divisions and sections to oversee the drill, guide personnel, and conduct headcounts, equipping personnel to respond effectively when actual crises occur.

The activity was conducted in compliance with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Memorandum No. 15, Series of 2026, which directed government agencies and local government units to participate in disaster preparedness and response initiatives.

The quarterly drill also supports the implementation of the Philippine National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (NDRRMP), which seeks to strengthen disaster preparedness and response capabilities across government institutions and communities.# (JLPC)
