Agri-10 to distribute presidential cash aid to 3,712 farmers, fishers in Lanao Norte this week
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (Agri-10) is set to distribute cash assistance to 3,712 rice and corn farmers and fisherfolk in eight municipalities of Lanao del Norte this week under the Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolk (PAFFP), starting September 8 in Salvador town.
The payout will cover 898 beneficiaries in Salvador today, followed by 594 in Tagoloan and 98 in Linamon on September 9. On September 10, 877 beneficiaries in Pantar are scheduled to receive the assistance, while 461 in Kauswagan, 285 in Maigo, and 499 in Bacolod are slated for payout on September 11.

The farmer-beneficiaries are rice and corn farmers enrolled in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA). Qualified rice farmers are those cultivating not more than two hectares, while beneficiaries must have been actively engaged in farming and fishing at the time of economic instability or market disruptions. Fisherfolk-beneficiaries are enrolled under the BoatR program.
Agri-10 is expediting the scheduled payouts ahead of the election ban, in consideration of the rules governing the conduct of mass gatherings during the period.
The distribution is part of DA-10’s implementation of the PAFFP in support of farmers and fisherfolk who contribute to regional food security. It also aligns with the “Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas” agenda of Agriculture Secretary Francisco P. Tiu-Laurel, which aims to strengthen the agri-fishery sector by supporting farmers and fisherfolk and sustaining food production.# (JLO/Photo credits: LDN payout team)
