DA-10 bolsters mechanization, irrigation support to Lanao Norte farmers

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10) Regional Executive Director Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan, and Poona Piagapo Municipal Mayor Engr. Ashley D. Raki-in, signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the grant of Php2.22 million worth of farm mechanization and irrigation projects to farmer organizations in said town, earlier today, October 13.

Funded under its High Value Crops Development Program, the DA-10 is poised to provide one (1) unit of Walking Type Agricultural Tractor (Rotary Tilling Type) worth PhP220K to the Pantaon Bangsamoro Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, and one (1) unit of Solar-Powered Irrigation System (SPIS) worth PhP2-million, to the Kapamagogopa Farmer Association.

The said initiative forms part of the DA’s 10-point agenda for the modernization and industrialization of the country’s agri-fishery production systems. # (AMBM)
