DA-10 brings agri support to Gingoog City residents through Bagong Pilipinas Caravan
GINGOOG CITY, Misamis Oriental – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10) brought agricultural support to residents of Brgy. Lawaan during the Bagong Pilipinas Information and Serbisyo Caravan, aimed at delivering government programs, services and information directly to communities, particularly in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).
Benefiting around 1,000 individuals from 275 households, the caravan was spearheaded by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) in coordination with the 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division through the 58th Infantry Battalion.
As one of the participating agencies, DA-10 provided farm inputs and agricultural information, and distributed 140 packets of kangkong seeds, 500 packets of pechay seeds, and information, education, and communication (IEC) materials.

Agriculturist II Berna Rhoda P. Barnido of DA-10 informed the participants on the agency’s continuing support for farmers through various agricultural assistance and production-enhancing interventions, including the provision of farm inputs and farm machinery.
One of the beneficiaries was Daisy Wilber, a resident of Brgy. Lawaan who is also a beneficiary of the 4Ps program.
“We will use these vegetable seeds in our 4Ps garden and we hope there will be more support and opportunities like this in the future,” Wilber said.
The activity also brought together various national government agencies and service providers, which extended food packs, school supplies, health-related services, rice assistance, and other interventions, while also giving community members access to programs that could support their daily needs and livelihoods.
Through its participation in the Information and Serbisyo Caravan, DA-10 reaffirmed its commitment to bringing agricultural information, inputs, and assistance closer to grassroots communities in support of food security and inclusive rural development in Northern Mindanao.# (NKMM and AMBM)
