DA-10 convenes LGU, NGA accountants to streamline protocol for transferred funds recon
OPOL, Misamis Oriental — The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10) convened accountants from the concerned Local Government Units (LGUs) and National Government Agencies (NGA) for a coordination meeting on August 24–25, to streamline government protocol in reconciling transferred funds.
Accountants and representatives of partner LGUs from Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, and Lanao del Norte, and regional offices of NGAs co-implementing DA projects attended the meeting, as the DA-10 set a common ground for the settlement of agency-to-agency fund transfers for the implementation of DA’s agricultural programs.
Patrick Ian F. Pedarase, chief of the DA-10 Administrative and Finance Division (AFD), said the annual activity aims to address challenges encountered in transferred funds reconciliation.
“After this activity, I hope that there will be settlements on the fund transfers and clear reconciliation,” Pedarse said, adding that the activity also provides a venue for participants to share ideas and best practices in utilizing government appropriations for agricultural projects.

Meanwhile, DA-10 Regional Executive Director Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan emphasized the importance of timely funds reconciliation to ensure unhampered implementation of government projects.
“It is always a challenge for our agencies to have all funds liquidated on time. We really rely on your support and ensuring that whatever is released for the project, we can reconcile it on time. We cannot do this alone, that is why we are grateful for this partnership.” Dir. Pacamalan added.
As resource speaker, Gina Perpetua R. Baul, State Auditor V and Regional Supervising Auditor of the Commission on Audit Regional Office X (COA-10), apprised the DA-10 and its partner government agencies on COA policies and updates on interagency fund transfers.
Parallel to its commitment in implementing programmatic agricultural interventions, the DA-10 continues to build a strong partnership with government stakeholders to champion prudent utilization of government funds for optimal benefits of the farming sector in the region. # (CRS)
