DA inspectorate, enforcement arm to establish satellite office in Northern Mindanao
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Department of Agriculture–Inspectorate and Enforcement (DA-IE) is set to establish a satellite office in Northern Mindanao to strengthen the implementation of its inspection and enforcement mandate in the region.
The DA-IE serves as the Department’s inspection and enforcement arm, tasked with monitoring compliance with agricultural laws, rules, and regulations, conducting inspections and enforcement operations, and supporting efforts against illegal activities involving agricultural and fishery products.
BGen. Anthon G. Abrina, PA (Ret.), led a coordination meeting with the Department of Agriculture–Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10), through its Regulatory Division, and the regional offices of various DA regulatory agencies to introduce the DA-IE and discuss the planned establishment of its satellite office in Northern Mindanao.

The meeting was also attended by Lana May S. Racines, OIC-Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulations, together with representatives from the Bureau of Plant Industry–Plant Quarantine Service (BPI-PQS), Plant Product Safety Services Division (PPSSD), National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), Bureau of Animal Industry–Veterinary Quarantine Service (BAI-VQS), and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
Abrina emphasized the need for close coordination between DA-IE, DA-RFO 10 and its bureaus and attached agencies in carrying out the office’s mandate.
“So far, maganda yung naging resulta ng aming pag-uusap kasi need namin mag-work together to better implement the mandate of the office,” Abrina said.
The establishment of the satellite office is expected to strengthen DA-IE’s regional presence and facilitate closer coordination in the implementation of agricultural inspection and enforcement activities in Northern Mindanao.
