FICCO foundation sells farmers’ products at Agri-10 grounds
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (Agri-10), through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), translates its partnership with the FICCO Foundation Community Outreach Foundation, Inc. (FCOF) into market opportunities for local farmers as the foundation sold assorted agricultural products at the agency compound on July 30, here.
The market linkage activity featured a variety of fresh and value-added farm products, including vegetables and fruits, spices, adlay grits, coco sap drink, virgin coconut oil, and fresh eggs sourced from farmer-producers from the towns of Manolo Fortich, Baungon and Talakag in Bukidnon, and Claveria, Misamis Oriental.
It can be recalled that the Agri-10 recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with FCOF, which targets to strengthen inclusive rural development by promoting locally produced commodities in Northern Mindanao, broadening market access, and improving the livelihoods of farmers, cooperatives and other development partners in the region.

Through the engagement, FCOF acts as one of Agri-10’s market linkage partners, providing an opportunity for farmers’ produce and by-products to be directly sold to consumers.
Said undertaking is anchored on the current administration’s “Para sa Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas” vision by improving market opportunities for farmers, nurturing enterprise development, and contributing to rural economic growth in NorMin.# (JLO)
