Report officers from the agri offices of MisOr LGUs undergo a workshop on the Agri Info Mgt System, a developed electronic database to ease updating of information for planning and decision-making, to aid agri-development of said province.  

 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10) through DA-10 Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado, together with the Provincial Agriculture Office of Misamis Oriental (PAGRO MisOr) and the local government units (LGUs) of the said province, gathered for a follow-up workshop on the Agricultural Information Management System (AIMS).

Seventeen agricultural report officers from the LGUs attended the activity in Opol, Misamis Oriental, on March 2, 2022.

The workshop serves as a venue for continued discussions of issues and concerns about the system, and its implementation and updating status since January, this year.

Introduced in December 2021, AIMS is an electronic database developed by PAGRO MisOr to ease updating of information for planning and decision-making, to further develop the agricultural sector of the province.

PAGRO MisOr Agricultural Biosecurity and Engineering Division Chief, Engr. Evy E. Carusos said, that AIMS targets to improve information systems and to get real-time information, to support their initiatives, especially on market facilitation.

Attending report officers are tasked to consolidate data, encode and upload monthly planting reports of crops in their respective areas to the system.

Meanwhile, DA-10 Provincial Operations Center chief in MisOr, Chona H. Nacalaban expressed, that AIMS is a convenient and reliable system for the timely submission of agricultural accomplishments and other updates not only to PAGRO MisOr, but also to DA-10, as well.

Moving forward, a system updating will be done to add more options for crops available in an area into the system, and to ensure the availability of the system to all report officers.

As further agreed, updating of the Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) database, and submission of the copies of the latest Special Order indicating the program coordinators and report officers from the different municipal agriculture offices (MAOs) to PAGRO MisOr and DA-10 were requested. #(MPMTablon)
