SAAD program wraps up its phase 1 implementation in Region 10 after six years starting from 2017.
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program is wrapping up its phase 1 implementation in Northern Mindanao this year, as the program is due for termination after a six-year run beginning in 2017.
In a meeting, Monday, August 1, the SAAD-Northern Mindanao (SAAD-NorMin) convened its personnel from the Provincial Program Management Support Offices (PPMSOs) in Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, and Misamis Occidental to lay down plans and timelines of activities for the SAAD closure in the region.
A team from SAAD-NorMin earlier attended the Project Management Workshop for SAAD’s Terminal Phase organized by SAAD National Program Management Office (SAAD-NPMO).
The activity primarily aims to synchronize protocols and procedures for SAAD’s closure in 31 provinces nationwide.
The SAAD Regional Program Management Support Offices (RMPSOs) in 11 regions were told to work out plans for the transfer of SAAD projects to the LGUs and recipients, institute sustainability plans for project continuity, and prepare a terminal report for SAAD phase 1 closure.
In preparation for SAAD’s phase 1 termination, the SAAD-NorMin personnel were directed to collate needed data for the terminal report, monitoring of the previously implemented projects for continuity plans recommendation, and document SAAD successes and milestones in Northern Mindanao.
To date, SAAD-NorMin has earmarked P446-M worth of agricultural livelihood and enterprise projects benefiting at least 6,989 farmers in 52 poverty-stricken towns in the provinces of Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur and Misamis Occidental.#(ATalib)
