Agri 10 extends marketing and transport logistics assistance to Joseph Aguilar, an onion farmer.

 

MALAYBALAY CITY, BUKIDNON – The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO.10) through OIC- Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado facilitates the marketing linkage of onion farmer, Joseph Aguilar and Gaisano Mall Malaybalay for the second delivery of his 2 tons of red onions on January 29, in this city.

At P260 per kilogram, Mr. Aguilar has a total sale of P544,544, in which Gaisano has committed to buying his produce at 2 tons per week.

DA-10 Regional Technical Director for Operations Carlota S. Madriaga said that the department’s assistance in linking farmers to institutional buyer aims to help farmers bring their produce direct to the market.

Aside from the market linkage, DA-10 also provided the transport logistics from farm to the market.

The activity was supported by the DA-10’s Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), High Value Crops Development Program of the Field Operations Division and the DA- Bureau of Plant Industry- Plant Quarantine Service Cagayan de Oro and LGU Sumilao.#(ATC)
