DA-10 turns over veggie seeds and fruits seedlings to NMMC PGIs.

 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10) headed by OIC-Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado, turned over more than P15K worth of vegetable seeds and fruit seedlings to Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) postgraduate interns (PGIs) on February 27, 2023, at the DA-10 compound.

To ensure food security and promote urban gardening, the agency continues the seeds and seedlings assistance distribution with Dir. Collado and High Value Crops Development Program focal person Kersten S. Pagalan turned over the 100 packets of veggie seeds and 50 pieces of rambutan and mangosteen seedlings to said recipients.

Further, this is in support of NMMC PGIs’ advocacy to address community medicine through primary intervention on lifestyle modification and healthier food options, in which the provisions were received by Carla O. Retirado.

While all the seedlings will be distributed to households in Sitio Guinotang, Alubijid, other group of interns are assigned to distribute the seeds in the neighboring barangays of the locality, including sitios Guinotang, Loguilo, Babay, Talaba, and Lagtang, in a plan to rehabilitate their respective community gardens.# (RLTolentino)
