DA-10 hands over assorted veggie seeds to Task Force Oro of 4ID, PA.

 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA RFO-10) headed by OIC-Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado turned over some 100 packets of pinakbet seeds to ‘Task Force Oro’ of the 4th Infantry Division (4ID), Philippine Army on March 6, 2022 at the agency compound, this city.

Funded by the agency’s High Value Crops Development Program, the handover of assorted veggie seeds was led by DA-10 Field Operations Division chief Luz I. Guzman, PhD, and was received by Staff Sgt Reuben S. Palahang of Task Force Oro, 4ID, PA.

According to Palahang, the seeds provided will be utilized for Task Force Oro’s planned greening initiative for its six checkpoints located in barangays Indahag, Upper Puerto, Bugo, Lumbia, San Simon, and in Opol, Misamis Oriental.

He added that the support given by the department will largely benefit the 4ID personnel by allowing them to increase their productivity, at the same time develop a renewed interest in gardening by growing their own produce within a small-scale setup, and eventually, harvesting these for their consumption.# (GDAndres)
