Agri 10 turns over various chemicals and biological control agents to CLGU Gingoog

 

GINGOOG CITY, MISAMIS ORIENTAL – In response to the reported severe damage to rice and other crops in Gingoog City due to pest infestation, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 headed by OIC-Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado through the Regional Crop Protection Center, provided various chemicals and Biological Control Agents to the CLGU on Thursday, March 9.

Said biological control agents will suppress pest populations, making them less damaging.

RCPC chief Lucille T. Minguez handed over the 20 kilograms of Metarhizium anisoplea and Beauveria bassiana, 20 packs of Trichoderma harzianum and 15 grams Trichogramma japonicum.

Various chemicals were also provided which include insecticides, fungicide, rodenticide and Neem based Bio Insecticide to LGU Gingoog City through Assistant City Agriculturist, Ram Shurab S. Landiza.

Landiza expressed his gratitude to DA-RFO 10 for the department’s immediate response to their request that could help manage pests and diseases in their locality.

The turnover was assisted by Jurrybe J. Lachica, Science Research Specialist II and other RCPC technical staff.#
