DA-10 observes World Engineering Day through the conduct of a tree growing activity.

 

OPOL, MISAMIS ORIENTAL – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA RFO 10) through OIC-Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado joins the nationwide tree-growing activity in observance of World Engineering Day 2023 on March 4, 2023, at the Makaluesa Reforestation, Brgy. Patag, of this town.

DA-10’s Regional Agricultural Engineering Division (RAED), headed by Chief Engr. Deliza T. Camaro, together with other engineers from the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources (MENRO), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, participated said activity.

Bearing the theme: “Let’s keep our earth green. Let’s plant the future together,” promotes the role of engineering in sustainable development and in the mitigation of the impact of climate change in the world through the tree-growing activity, wherein 100 seedlings of pink blossom were planted in the site.

The celebration, spearheaded by the Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (PSABE) and facilitated by the PSABE regional chapters was supported by the department to strengthen its social contributions in conserving, preserving, and protecting the environment.# (RLTolentino)
