Agri-10 briefs the congressional office of Iligan City on the agency’s different programs and project for availment.

 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – To address food security, alleviate poverty, and increase farmers’ income and productivity, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10) headed by OIC-Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado, organizes a briefing on the department’s banner programs and other special programs with the Congressional Office of Iligan City at the agency compound.

Encouraging the participation of district offices for the sustainable growth of agriculture in the country, the agri department convenes with said office led by Congressman Celso G. Regencia represented by its agriculture focal persons, wherein the various interventions that can be accessed from each program of DA were delivered by its designated focal persons from the Rice, Corn, High Value Crops Development, Livestock, and the Organic Agriculture programs.

Further, assistance under those Farm-to-Market Roads (FMRs), Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD), Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo (4Ks), Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2), and the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) were also tackled.

Of these, priority programs range from production support services, agricultural machineries and equipment, extension support, education and training services, market development, among others.

Highlighted also in the availment of said interventions is the enrollment of farmers, fishers and farm workers to the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).

Through the briefing, the Congressional Office of Iligan conveyed that they will cascade the information on DA’s roster of assistance down to the grassroots, at the same time further assured that they will aid the department in ensuring that the beneficiaries will gain appropriate assistance for their identified needs. # (RLTolentino)
