Agri-10 provides P6-M worth of agri-interventions in support to the urban agriculture program of the cities of Malaybalay and Valencia, Bukidnon.

 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Aimed to provide additional support to the Urban Agriculture Program of the local government units (LGUs), the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10) under its High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) turned over some P6 million worth of agri-interventions on March 20, 2023, in the cities of Malaybalay and Valencia, Bukidnon.

OIC-Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado led the turnover of various agri-interventions amounting to P3 million per LGU to Malaybalay City Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran and Valencia City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas that aims to establish and promote different urban agriculture technologies through the distribution of agricultural inputs and tools to highly urbanized communities.

DA-10 HVCDP Focal Person Kersten S. Pagalan said, the project is funded under the agriculture stimulus package, Bayanihan II, which includes a greenhouse with micro-sprinkler irrigation system (1 unit), mushroom growing house (4 units), mushroom fruiting bag (2,000 bags), polypropylene bag (270 packs), hand tractor/multi-cultivator (2 units), all-purpose shredder (2 units), organic fertilizer (60 bags), vegetable seeds (60 kilograms), a-net (18 rolls), bag filling machine (1 unit), light hoe (12 units), shovel (12 units) and wheelbarrow (2

Collado shared, “The agency seeks to maximize food-based potentials of LGU beneficiaries and hopes that they would be able to sustain its operations.”
