DA-PRDP orients MisOr province on the Project’s scale-up.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project 10 (DA-PRDP 10), in partnership with the PPMIU Misamis Oriental, conducted an orientation on the upscaling of the DA-PRDP in this city.

In the said province, 21 LGUs attended the orientation and signified interest in availing of subprojects under the scale-up such as an abattoir in Laguindingan and a cassava enterprise in Balingoan.

Lana Mae S. Racines, DA-PRDP 10 Monitoring and Evaluation Unit Head, said that the DA-PRDP 10 team is willing to give its assistance to those who are in need, especially in the preparation of the subproject proposal.

“In proposing for a subproject in DA-PRDP, our team will guide and help you gather and accomplish the necessary documents.”

In his message, DA-10 OIC-Regional Executive Director and DA-PRDP 10 Project Director Carlene C. Collado requested the representatives from the different municipalities of Misamis Oriental to prepare for the scale-up, including the submission of their documents.

“With a limited budget from the World Bank which will be shared by the entire country, I am hoping that Misamis Oriental and the rest of the provinces of Northern Mindanao will have a big chunk of it. However, we can only achieve this if we will be fast enough to comply with the requirements before the deadlines.”

The DA-PRDP scale-up aims to have a framework that can address the gaps in the value chain, focusing on improving the efficiency of the food supply chain.

The scale up also aims to contribute to developing the sector by improving farmers’ and fisherfolk’s access to markets and increasing income from selected agri-fishery value chains.#
