To honor the hardworking farmers and fishers in Region 10, DA and DOLE roll out KNP during the 121st celebration of Labor Day.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – In line with the 121st  Labor Day celebration, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10), through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), joined the conduct of the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) para sa mga Manggagawa on May 1, 2023, at SM CDO Downtown Premier.

The weeklong activity is participated by six DA-10 assisted farmers’ cooperatives, associations (FCAs), namely: CDO Small Farmers’ Association (FA), Miarayon Highland FA, Northern Mindanao Federation of Dairy Cooperatives, Beltran Integrated Farm, Manzano Farm, and CdeO Integrated Farm, showcasing their fresh and quality agri-fishery products at reasonable prices.

According to DA-10 Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado, the Kadiwa is a marketing program of DA that aims to help link local farmers and fishers by garnering support from the local government units, other line agencies, and the private sector, benefiting producers and consumers alike.

Dir. Collado added that the project also helps in sustaining the price advantage derived by small farmers and fisherfolk from selling directly to a ready market, as well as ensuring fresh and nutritious food, and other essential items that are important for health and well-being.

Meanwhile, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) OIC-Regional Director Estrella Uy-Pahalla extended her gratitude to DA for having installed the Kadiwa and bringing exhibitors to display and market what farmers and fishers in the region have produced.

KNP para sa mga Manggagawa is a collaborative project of DA and DOLE, simultaneously held across regions to honor the hardworking farmers and fisherfolk in Northern Mindanao.# (RDMElloren)
