Agri-10 celebrates Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month and Feast Day of St. Isidore through a holy mass and Kadiwa sa DA at the agency compound.

 

The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10) celebrates Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month as well as the feast day of Saint Isidore, patron saint of farmers through a holy mass and opening of the Kadiwa sa DA earlier today, May 15, 2023 at the DA-RFO 10 compound, Antonio Luna Street, Cagayan de Oro City.

Highlighting this year’s theme, “Masaganang Agrikultura, Maunlad na Ekonomiya”, DA-10 Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado shared that the celebration is observed to acknowledge the hard work of farmers and fisherfolk and their vital contribution to the economy.

Following the holy mass and blessing of the grotto, the Kadiwa sa DA was opened to the public led by Regional Technical Director for Operations Carlota S. Madriaga with Farmer-Director Reynaldo M. Cabanao, of which agricultural and fishery products from the following exhibitors were sold:

• Mindulao Farmers’ Coop (MINFARCO) – assorted fruits and vegetables
• Kahusayan Consumers Cooperative – assorted vegetables, root crops and rice
• Northern Mindanao Federation of Dairy Cooperatives – bottled fresh milk, milk bar
• Beltran Integrated Farm – lettuce
• Manzano Farm – fresh fruits
• CdeO Integrated Farm – rabbit
• Tagpuangi Fisherfolk Association – eggs, meat, fish and fish processed products
• Canitoan Farmers’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative – assorted fruits and vegetables
• Rural Improvement Club (RIC) Initao – banana (sab-a, cardava)
• Food Processors Association of Northern Mindanao (FOPANORMIN) – processed products (cacao, cacao ice cream, longganisa, peanut butter)
• DA research stations (NMACLRC, RCUD and RCHD) – processed products (wines, cereals and cookies, root crops, banana)

The said Kadiwa will run up to May 16, 2023 at the DA-RFO 10 compound.# (AMBManto)
