RAFC chair Cabanao caps his farmer-directorship in time for the Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month celebration.

 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – A ceremonial exit for the outgoing Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10) Farmer-Director (FD) Reynaldo M. Cabanao was conducted on June 1, 2023 at the agency compound, in this city, in time for the culmination of the Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month celebration.

During his term as the FD, Cabanao, who is the Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council-10 (RAFC-10) chairperson, was able to pass six resolutions, attended four major activities, conducted various meetings, and eyed a partnership with the Northern Mindanao Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (NOMCAARRD).

“I am thankful for this platform given to me and to the RAFC, which has been instrumental in achieving the goals we set at the beginning of the month, particularly in improving partnership with our stakeholders,” Cabanao said.

In his message, DA-10 Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado is hopeful that with Cabanao’s stint as the FD for the entire month of May, a stronger bond between the department and AFCs will prosper.

“Being part of the activities of DA-10 for a month, I hope that his understanding of the DA operations was increased and the good practices we have here in the department can be reechoed to the AFCs. On behalf of DA-10, we would like to express our gratitude to Mr. Cabanao for his efforts and we hope to have a stronger partnership with the AFCs as we help and support each other,” Dir. Collado added.

Cabanao was installed as the FD in the first week of May at the DA-10 compound. For the month of May, RAFC chairpersons all over the country take the responsibilities of executing and disseminating the department’s priority programs, projects, and services as FDs with their authority limited to non-policy-determining activities.

Gracing the ceremony are Regional Technical Director (RTD) for Operations Carlota S. Madriaga and RTD for Research and Regulations Cora A. Dumayaca together with DA-10 consultant Joel S. Rudinas, heads and representatives of the different divisions of DA-10, and the sectoral chairpersons of RAFC.# (CRSeraspe)
