DA-10 pushes digitalization, apprises LFTs on online reporting system
MALAYBALAY CITY, BUKIDNON — Working toward a technology-driven agricultural sector, Local Farmer Technicians (LFTs) from Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon provinces convened for an orientation on digitalization at Northern Mindanao Agricultural Crops and Livestock Research Complex in Dalwangan, here.
On March 27, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10) introduced the “LFT Management and Information System Monitoring,” equipping the region’s trained partners in agricultural development the knowledge to leverage technology for a more efficient reporting of agricultural activities on the ground.
Noel M. Degamo, DA-10’s information technology consultant, provided LFTs with insights into the online reporting system, which allows them to track and report data such as crop production, planting and harvest dates, projected yields, and other vital agricultural concerns.
For his part, DA-10 Regional Executive Director, Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan, emphasized the agency’s commitment to improving delivery of services by collaborating with manufacturers and/or suppliers to address any agri machinery and equipment concerns, thus enjoining LFTs to submit reports pertinent to such matters.
With this start-up online reporting system, the DA-10 eyes to monitor real-time challenges of its service and intervention deliveries, which provide opportunities to fine-tune solutions and align them with agricultural needs.
The LFTs from Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental are set to attend another session in April to be held in Tubod, Lanao del Norte, further expanding the digitalization initiative of the DA-10.# (BJCE)
