CAGAYAN DE ORO – In line with efforts to institutionalize the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) methodologies across the Department of Agriculture (DA) offices and regional field units, the Institutional Development Unit (IDU) conducted an orientation on PRDP tools and innovations last June 19–20, 2025 in this city.
The IDU aims to capacitate DA staff and mainstream these tools and innovations to ensure that data-driven, participatory, and climate-resilient approaches become standard practices in agricultural development.
Engr. Rene P. Manantan, Senior Institutional Development Specialist of the NPCO-IDU, presented the various tools and innovations developed under PRDP. These tools, when integrated into DA’s regular programs, are expected to serve as strategic leverage for enhancing program implementation.
Component and unit representatives also further discussed the tools in detail, sharing best practices from PRDP to help regular program personnel better understand their applications and benefits.
Moving forward, the IDU plans to conduct more targeted sessions—this time engaging in in-depth consultations with each regular program—to fully harmonize PRDP tools, innovations, and modalities with the broader range of DA programs and projects. #
