CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – To mark over a century of service to the agriculture and fisheries sector, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10) joins the nationwide celebration in marking the agency’s 127th Founding Anniversary on June 23, in this city.

The milestone event brought together the DA-10 employees, officials, and partners to commemorate the department’s past achievements and to bring a renewed commitment to building a more resilient, inclusive, and progressive agriculture sector.

As part of the celebration, the agency conducted its Semi-Annual Rewards and Recognition Program, honoring employees who have exemplified excellence in public service and performance. Various awards were presented to individuals and divisions who have significantly contributed to the department’s programs, services, and development initiatives during the first half of the year.

Awards were conferred across various categories, including the Regional Level awards, which featured the Snappy Award, Personnel Development Award, and the “Wow” Award. Under the Agency Level awards, the Maagap Awards were given to both regular and Contract of Service/Job Order employees who consistently displayed efficiency and responsiveness in their duties. The Regional Level (Exemplary Awards) spotlighted top-performing personnel and division, including Technical Staff of the Year, Administrative Staff of the Year, and Division of the Year.

According to Atty. Rowena G. Gingo, Director II of the Civil Service Commission – Misamis Oriental Field Office, who served as the keynote speaker, lauded the dedication of the DA-10 workforce: “From every personnel, from frontliners to back office who silently but tirelessly served the nation, this day belongs to you. Our awardees are a shining example of what it means to work not just with skill but with heart. Your excellence, integrity, and commitment reminds us that service is not a job, it is a calling.”

The recognition program serves as a mechanism to foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and professionalism among DA-10 personnel. It is also aligned with the agency’s efforts to enhance productivity and promote employee well-being through merit-based acknowledgment.# (NQA)
