Agribiz coordinators undergo training on descriptive statistics

 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10), through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), staged a capability enhancement training on descriptive statistics for agribusiness coordinators on July 4 to 7, 2023, in this city.

DA-10 Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado said the training aims to capacitate municipality and city agribusiness coordinators enrolled in the web-based Bantay Presyo Monitoring System on the necessary background and competencies for data collection, monitoring and analysis of price data of basic and prime agri-fishery commodities.

As the resource speaker, Karen Debbie J. Cosrojas, PhD of the College of Agriculture at the Central Mindanao University apprised agribusiness coordinators from the municipalities of San Fernando, Manolo Fortich, Damulog and Maramag, and Malaybalay City of Bukidnon; Balingasag, Alubijid, Initao, and the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Gingoog of Misamis Oriental; the town of Aloran, Misamis Occidental; and Iligan City of Lanao del Norte on basic concepts in statistics, data collection and data presentation methods.

Further, the participants were also immersed in workshops on the concepts of summary measures and basic statistical analysis and interpretation during the second and third day of the workshop.

The four-day event was capped with a completion ceremony, where participants shared their impressions of the capability enhancement training.
