LGU Tubod is one of the recipients of DA’s Enhanced Kadiwa grant.

 

TUBOD, LANAO DEL NORTE – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10) through the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division’s (AMAD) Enhanced Kadiwa Grant (EKG), turns over P6.5 million worth of logistic support to an employees’ cooperative, a federation, and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tubod, Lanao del Norte, on July 4, 2023, at the Mindanao Civic Center, this town.

Senator Imee R. Marcos led the official turnover of certificates and checks together with DA spokesperson and Assistant Secretary for Consumer Affairs Kristine Y. Evangelista, LDN Governor Imelda Q. Dimaporo, Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado and Regional Technical Director for Operations Carlota S. Madriaga of DA-10, and other key officials of said province.

A total of P3-M was handed over to LGU Tubod for their Kadiwa on Wheels project, comprising of 1 unit Cargo Transport – Delivery Truck.

A certificate for the Enhancement of their Barangay Food Terminal was also given to the Paglingkawas Women’s Federation (PAWFED), the overall cost of P1-M, and for the Kadiwa Rolling Store to the Iligan City Government Employees’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative amounting to P1-M.

According to Dir. Collado, the cited program aims to ensure the availability and accessibility of food commodities in high consumer demand sites.

Further, it provides particularly among the economically challenged and low-income families by harnessing private sector participation, capacity enhancement of farmer’s cooperatives, and associations (FCAs), and engaging community organizations’ participation in the food supply distribution system.

Said financial grants are also part of the financial livelihood assistance of the Office of Senator Marcos coursed through DA’s Bayanihan Act II-Kadiwa program, by providing logistical and marketing support to enhance the capacities of farmers and fishers in the supply and delivery of food and food products to consumers.

Prior to the event, DA Asec Evangelista conducted a site visit to the beneficiaries to ensure they maximize in reaping gains such as productivity and income through projects implemented.# (RDMElloren)
