DA-NorMin conducts a virtual briefing for the effective and efficient PAFES implementation.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – To ensure effective and efficient implementation of the Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES) under the OneDA reform agenda in Transforming Philippine Agriculture, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10) conducted a virtual briefing on October 1, 2021.

DA-10 Regional Technical Director for Operations Carlota S. Madriaga noted, that said activity aims to update members of the Regional Program Management and Technical Support Team (RPMTST) on its activities.

“We have already begun coordination activities with our pilot province, Bukidnon – being the food basket of Northern Mindanao and having the biggest production area for agriculture,” she reported.

Through PAFES, the province serves as an extension hub that synchronizes agricultural plans programs, including in orchestrating the activities of various stakeholders.

It further seeks to strengthen the collaboration of DA, local government units (LGUs) and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of agri-fishery programs and services amid the challenges of devolution.

Spearheaded by the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the agency and attended by representatives from its attached bureaus and agencies along with other stakeholders, the virtual meeting tackled updates and future plans concerning the series of workshops for local government units for its harmonious implementation. # (AMBManto)
