Agri-NorMin supports Tubod College’s harvest festival with vegetable seeds
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — In support of youth-led agricultural initiatives, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10), through its High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP), turned over an assortment of vegetable seeds to the agriculture students of Tubod College in celebration of their Harvest Festival.
Led by DA-10 Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulations Cora A. Dumayaca, a variety of upland kangkong, pechay, squash, pole sitao, and lettuce seeds were handed over to the community college on Friday, July 11, at the agency compound.
The provision aims to support the students’ practical learning activities and promote sustainable crop production as part of the festival’s objectives.
This initiative reflects the collaboration between the DA-10, the academe, and local government units in promoting food sustainability, self-sufficiency, and youth participation in agriculture.
Aligned with the Department’s goal to boost food productivity and resilience at the grassroots level, the agency continues to extend support to academic and civic groups pursuing agricultural initiatives that contribute to local food security and community development.# (EJLG)
