Agri-10 showcases agri programs, joins governance training for re-elected LGU officials under DILG’s NEO PLUS Program
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10), participated as an exhibitor and resource speaker in the “Transformative Leadership for Elevated Governance: Refresher Course for Re-Elected Local Officials,” conducted under the Newly-Elected Officials Performing Leadership for Uplifting Service (NEO PLUS) program, organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 10 and the Local Government Academy (LGA).
The event is a series of leadership refresher courses designed to strengthen the competencies of re-elected local officials, focusing on effective governance, strategic leadership, and collaborative development. The first batch of the training was held on July 29 to 30, followed by the second and third batches conducted from August 4 to 7. The fourth batch is set on August 11 to 12, ensuring that local leaders are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to drive impactful and responsive governance in their respective communities.
To complement the learning sessions, the DA-10, through the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) was among the agencies invited to set up an exhibit and networking lounge, showcasing the agency’s flagship programs through information, education, and communication (IEC) materials, and promoting agricultural products in support of local agripreneurs, and provided a venue for engaging LGU officials and decision-makers to boost local agri-based economies.
Other participating agencies included the DICT, DOH, DSWD, DOST, ARTA, DENR, DILG attached agencies, and the Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) 10, each presenting their programs and knowledge products aligned with local governance and development.
DA-10’s participation highlights its role in advancing sustainable agriculture, promoting agricultural modernization, and supporting inter-agency collaboration to uphold good governance, ultimately contributing to the attainment of food security.#
